Bilateral Consultations of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in Palestine

On 9 June 2019, Deputy Minister Martin Tlapa officially visited Palestine.

At the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs he met the Assistant Minister for Europe, Ms. Amal Jadou. They discussed the Czech – Palestinian bilateral relations, economic and development cooperation or the recent developments in the Middle East Peace Process. Mr. Tlapa also held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of National Economy, Mr. Haythem Wahidi with whom he talked about possibilities for furthering economic cooperation and potential investments. Similar themes were also discussed during a working lunch with the members of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ramallah and Al Bireh Governorate.

During the Deputy Minister’s visit, a handover ceremony of a solar energy project financed by the Czech Development Agency was held at the Star Mountain Rehabilitation Center for children with disabilities. The ceremony was an occasion for a meeting with Eng. Zafer Milhem, the Chairman of the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority which implements the Czech development project.

Mr. Tlapa also visited the Birzeit Brewery, one of the "success stories" of Czech export to Palestine. The brewery imported a filling machine from Raveco company and it uses Czech malt and hops for brewing the Shepherds beer.
