European Union Heads of Missions in Ramallah and Jerusalem visited Hebron

With the aim to strengthen cooperation with Palestinian governorates and municipalities, the EU Head of Missions in Ramallah and Jerusalem visited Hebron, which is the largest Palestinian city and a commercial hub.
 

They met with the Governor of Hebron, the Mayor of Hebron and other community representatives. The EU Heads of Missions were briefed about the difficult situation in a divided city, which is currently facing the withdrawal of international observer mission TIPH. The EU diplomats also visited the Shjarat Aldor girls school in the Old City of Hebron which is supported from EU/ECHO funds. A meeting to discuss possibilities of business cooperation was held at the Hebron Chamber of Commerce.

This year, the Czech Republic supports development in the Hebron Governorate by a small development project in Dura as well as within the framework of a common project of the Czech Development Agency and the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority to install solar panels on several schools in the region.
