On Thursday, 19 April, in cooperation with the Travelers Club of Latvia and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Riga the documentary film Jiří Hanzelka and Miroslav Zikmund in the Soviet Union was screened.

In the theater club Hamlets, after brief introductory speech by Ambassador Mr. Miroslav Kosek and club‘s representative Mr.  Valdis Brants the members of Czech-Latvian Society and the Latvian Travelers Club enjoyed nine parts of the documentary about the journey of engineers Jiří Hanzelka and Miroslav Zikmund across the Soviet Union in 1963 and 1964.  The short screening of the movie shot during the journey was met with great interest especially because it was the first screening of this work here in Latvia. The movie was subtitled in Latvian. Mr. Jānis Krastins and Mr. Māris Delveris contributed to its translation.
At the end of the evening, the representatives of the Embassy and the Travelers Club greeted Mr. Miroslav Zikmund by phone.
