Honourable mention diplomas of the Embassy in the national round of the 49th ICEFA Lidice

On 11 February 2021, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Latvia presented its honourable mention diplomas to fifteen participants of the International Children's Art Exhibition Lidice. The theme for the 49th ICEFA Lidice is "ROBOT and Artificial Intelligence".

This year 780 works from 32 regions were provided in the competition in Latvia, and 190 of them were selected for the national round to compete in the final exhibition, which will take place in the Czech Republic and display children's artworks from all over the world.

This year's traditional awards ceremony took place in an unusual way, in the form of a remote ceremony. On Thursday, February 11, almost an hour-long film was shot at the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics of the Riga University of Technology (RTU). In accordance with the established epidemiological measures only the representatives of the National Centre for Educational Content (VISC), Czech Embassy in Riga, Department of Education, Culture and Sports. Riga City Council and the Centre for Hobby Education in Riga (RIIMC) participated, but the film will be available to all the participants of the competition. On this occasion, the Embassy presented honourable mention diplomas and small gifts, which were virtually sent to the selected fifteen young authors.

The authors chose a whole range of techniques to create their works: from drawing, graphics, painting, to plastic work, ceramics, glass or paper. This year's theme also expanded the artistic possibilities to the field of computer technology and animation and sophisticated metal and wood works.
