Meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Indra Karapetjana

Ambassador Hynková together with her Deputy Hušková visited the University of Latvia on January 7.

They met with the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Prof. Indra Karapetjana and have spoken, together with Prof. Igor Koškin and Associate Professor Nadezda Kopoloveca, about the state and future perspectives of the Czech language and the Czech studies program in the Bohemistics and Polonistics Centre of the Department of Russian and Slavonic studies. The Dean has informed on the structure and the organization of the faculty and individual departments, about future structural changes that are being discussed and she has appreciated the work and quality of teaching by Associate Professor Naděžda Kopoloveca who leads the Czech studies in both bachelor and master module. Ambassador Hynková praised the work of Mrs. Kopoloveca and Mr. Koškin greatly and spoke about the intention of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Latvia to participate in publishing the book on Czech grammar in Latvian language for the purposes of Czech studies at the University of Latvia. She expressed a strong interest in continuing Czech studies at the University and assured about the Embassy's commitment to continue in the intensive cooperation with the Bohemistics and Polonistics Centre. Ambassador Hynková appreciated the efforts of Associate Professor Kopoloveca in promoting the Czech language and the Czech Republic in Latvia.
