Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Latvia Miroslav Kosek Met with the Fire Brigade of the Moravian-Silesian Region

The EU Civil Protection Modules exercise LatMODEX 2016  took place in Latvia from 27th  to 30th of October. Besides the Latvian team, the Slovakian, German and the Czech Republic team  WASAR (Water Search and Rescue) were present at the rescue operations during the whole LatMODEX.  


 

WASAR specializes in large-scale human search and rescue works on the water. Colonel Vladimír Vlček (Deputy Director of Moravian - Silesian Region Fire and Rescue Service) commanded altogether with  Colonel Vojtěch Nezval, director of Frýdek - Místek Regional Fire and Rescue Service, and the doctor of Brno Trauma Hospital,  35 rescuers from the Moravian - Silesian Fire and Rescue Service. 

On October 28, the Czech Ambassador Miroslav Kosek visited the rescue team during their exercises.

On Sunday, October 30, after the excercises LatMODEX 2016 have been finished, the Ambassador welcomed the professional team at the Embassy of the Czech Republic and congratulated them to the excellent results. Colonel Vladimir Vlček then briefly informed about the importance of such kind of exercises and highlighted the success of the Czech team. Then a conversation in a friendly atmosphere with the Ambassador and the embassy staff followed.
