Celebrations of the 90th anniversary of the start of production of JAWA motorcycles and the 100th anniversary of the establishment of ČZ

On Saturday, August 10, the 90th anniversary of the start of production of JAWA motorcycles and the 100th anniversary of the founding of ČZ took place in Cinevilla film village in Zemgale.

That day, the Latvian JAWA Club organized the ninth meeting of Czechoslovak motorcycle owners and their supporters.
The motorcycle festival lasted from 9th to 11th of August, and on Saturday 10 August the visitors and motorcycle fans could observe the historical motorcycles at the Cinevilla film village. More than one hundred participants from different countries rode the historic and modern motorcycles within the motor column from Jelgava to Cinevilla. In Cinevilla, a full day program was prepared for both children and adults. They could visit the exhibition of historical motorcycles JAWA and ČZ, visit a workshop, ride a motorcycle, make a picture with historical motorcycle and participate in a quiz about the history of motorcycles JAWA and ČZ and the Czech Republic.
This event was opened by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Riga Miroslav Kosek, JAWA business manager Jiří Kraft and coordinator of Latvian JAWA club Eduards Straumītis. Miroslav Kosek welcomed all participants and wished JAWA and ČZ a lot of success in the future as well. The quiz for both young and adult participants was carried out by embassy workers who also awarded the prizes to the winners and presented small gifts – the books by Czech authors translated into Latvian and Czech confectionery.
