Czech Republic and other V4 countries presented as attractive tourism destinations in Riyadh and Jeddah

On 12th and 13th November, CzechTourism agency in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Riyadh held tourism presentation seminars in Le Meridien Hotel in Jeddah and Marriott Hotel in Riyadh as part of the Discover Central Europe Middle East Roadshow 2018. The objective of the events was introducing the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland as attractive tourist destinations to Saudi tour operators. The participating companies then held individual consultations during the following B2B matchmaking session. The event was financed from the Projects for Economic Diplomacy Fund (PROPED).

The master of ceremony for both events was Mr. Marek Kroutil, International Marketing Manager of the CzechTourism agendy. The seminar in Jeddah, held on 12th November, was opened by Mr. Hussein Shobokshi, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Jeddah. In Riyadh, on 13th November, the event was opened by Mr. Jaromír Janev, chargé d’affaires a. i. of the Czech Embassy in Riyadh. The program followed by individual presentations of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland, which highlighted beautiful historical monuments, world-renowned spas and breathtaking nature. These were followed by brief introductions of the participating businesses.

The following B2B matchmaking session allowed the participants to engage individually with the Saudi tour operators and present their offers in greater detail. Ms Dana Eltomová, Consul of the Czehc Embassy in Riyadh held a workshop, followed by individual Q&A session on the Schengen Visa application process, which was followed with great interest.

The Czech participattion consisted of these busiensses: Fashion Arena Prague Outlet, Four Seasons Travel,  Graficon DMC, Prague Airport, Quix Event, s.r.o., Spa Teplice and Vizit Europe DMC.

The seminar in Jeddah attracted over 75 participants and the event in Riyadh over 120. The Saudi portion of the roadshow was financed from the Projects for Economic Diplomacy Fund (PROPED) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic.
