Ambassador visits Pyeongtaek City´s International Children’s Art Exhibition

This year the Czech Embassy, for the first time, joined the International Children’s Art Exhibition organized by Pyeongtaek International Exchange Foundation.

The exhibition commemorates its 30th anniversary this year. Symbolically, 30th anniversary is also celebrated this year between the Republic of Korea and the Czech Republic in establishing of the diplomatic relations between our two countries. These relations flourish in many areas, rich cooperation in culture and broad people-to-people exchanges among the most important ones. Very important reasons for our decision to take part in the exhibition and include this event in our cultural plans for the future.

Last Friday we visited the exhibition and had a chance to see works from different nationalities depicting, in line with this year main theme, their hometown. Although the pictures and other items were very different to reflect the versatility of live around the world, all pictures had one in common - love and respect for the mother country, for the hometown. Czech Republic contribution came from the schools in the Czech Republic, but also from Korean children who previously participated in the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice. We were very proud to see their works and sincerely believe these works would contribute to more understanding and even closer ties between our nations.
