Organized annually by Pyeongtaek International Exchange Foundation (PIEF), the children’s exhibition displays over 300 paintings with the theme of “My Dream” this year. Children from over ten different countries, including Poland, Mexico, Korea, Japan and the United States, have participated, and from the Czech Republic twenty-five (25) children artworks as well as cultural items have proudly decorated the Czech corner of this exhibition.

At the opening ceremony, Czech Ambassador Gustav Slamecka delivered his congratulatory speech as a representative speaker among participating foreign embassies, followed after the welcoming speech by the Mayor of Pyeongtaek City. In his speech the Ambassador said, “This year's main topic "MY DREAM" is especially relevant to see how COVID, which deprived children from direct participation in school activities, has impacted children's dreams all over the world. I believe the exhibition will give us the optimistic answer that children's dreams are stronger than the pandemic.”

The participation of Czech schools not only shows that there is no border in creativity and imagination of children, especially with their dreams in the post-COVID world, but also enriches bilateral cooperation in the culture sector and people-to-people exchanges between the Republic of Korea and the Czech Republic. The exhibition will open until July at Songtan International Community Center.
