Successful presentation of Czech brands on Chinese social media and e-commerce platforms

On September 11, 2021, Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai, in cooperation with CzechCham Shanghai, organized a Czech brands promotion day event to promote Czech products and strengthen their popularity among Chinese audiences.

Karel Šrol, Consul General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai, and Lukáš Hlaváč, President of CzechCham Shanghai, kicked of the Czech event that took place in the popular tourist venue - Afficion Chocolate factory near the city of Jiaxing. A total of 10 Czech brands presented their products in the style of “glamping” (glamorous camping): Škoda, Alpine Pro, Ton, Preciosa Beauty, Clartes Bohemia, Czevitrum, Pilsner Urquell, Hamé, Fromin and Tescoma.

Each of the brands had their own space to display and present their products. Variety of accompanying activities were prepared to enliven the event. Invited visitors could, for example, try roller skiing, learn how to recognize the difference between glass and crystal, practice the correct pouring of beer, win prizes in the quiz about the Czech Republic, or test their culinary skills in creating a Škoda chocolate car.

Visitors on site enjoyed rich program, but the main goal of the event was mainly online promotion of Czech brands, both through live broadcasts from the event as well as subsequent posts and blogs on social media platforms from influencers attending the event. Almost 10 million fans were able to watch videos, photos and articles posted online from the event.

Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai also used the wide publicity of the event to promote the Czech Republic through an exhibition of photographs and the presentation of the beauty of the Czech Republic as a tourist destination.
