Evening with Czech classical music and beer

On 27 October Consulate General of the Czech Republic to Shanghai organized Evening with Czech Classical Music and Beer to mark the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Czechoslovak Republic

Karel Šrol, Consul General of the Czech Republic opened the event by welcoming visitors and invited them for a nearly hour-long concert of Czech classical music from renowned composers such as Dvořák, Smetana, Ježek and Martinů. Richard Pohl, Czech pianist living in China, performed the musical pieces on Piano from traditional Czech brand PETROF. His wife, sopranist XingXing Wang accompanied him to sing selected songs.

After the music performance, the guests could enjoy Czech food, Czech beer (Pilsner UIrquell) and other drinks such as Becherovka, Stará myslivecká, Fernet. To make everyone feel as if they have arrived to Czech Republic, guests could watch videos showing the best tourist destinations in the Czech Republic.
