Exhibition on contemporary Jewish culture in the V4 countries opens at the Shanghai Jewish Refugee Museum

Photography exhibition Jewish Culture Today Through the Lens of V4 Photographers opened at the Shanghai Jewish Refugee Museum on January 27 - the Holocaust Remembrance Day and the Day of Prevention of Crimes Against Humanity.

Consul General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai Karel Šrol, the Consuls General of Hungary and Poland in Shanghai and the Deputy Consul General of Slovakia launched the exhibition organized under the Hungarian V4 presidency. Many distinguished guests attended the ceremony, including for example the Consul Generals of Israel, USA and France or the Director of European and African Affairs at the Foreign Affairs Office in Shanghai.

Each V4 country contributed 10 photographs for the exhibition, offering a glimpse at the contemporary Jewish culture and life in the V4 countries. Czech photographs were selected from the CzechTourism database. Visitors to the exhibition can therefore see, for example, photographs of the town of Úštěk, the Jewish cemetery in Strážnice, or synagogues from a number of Czech cities.
