The exhibition is organized in cooperation with 24 EU Consulate Generals under the Slovenian presidency of the EU council. Official ceremony at the Shanghai Library, one of the largest libraries in the world, was held on 8. 11. 2021 with Karel Šrol, Consul General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai, in attendance.

Mr. Chen Chao, the director of Shanghai Library opened the event, followed by presentations of books from each participating EU country. S Richterová from Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai introduced three popular Czech publications for children, which are locally available in Chinese. The following books were introduced: Little Mole and the Rocket, The Greatest Czech Fairy Tales as well as Mach and Šebestová. The audience could learn brief information about the life of the authors, as well as about the books and their fairy-tale characters that made Czech book culture famous.

The books were donated to the Shanghai Library and will serve both young readers and all other visitors of the library interested in children's literature from the Czech Republic in the future.
