Celebration of 70th Anniversary of Czech-China Diplomatic Relations in Hangzhou

The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai held a celebrating event to mark the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Czechoslovakia and China which took place in the newly opened Yuhang Grand Theatre in Hangzhou on 18 May 2019.

The event hosted 50 guests from Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou. The opening speeches were delivered by Consul General of the Czech Republic Mr. Richard Krpač and Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province Mr. Zhu Congjiu. The programme offered also a musical intermezzo on piano and violin presented by members of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra playing A. Dvorak´s works, namely Sonatina and two songs performed by a Chinese opera singer.

The 70th anniversary celebration event was followed by a gala concert of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra which also served as an opening ceremony of the Yuhang Grand Theatre. The Czech Philharmonic was on a regular tour to China and it was its first performance ever done in Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou. The audience of thousand visitors gave a very warm welcome to the artists.
