Visa and Consular Information

Territorial Competence:

The consular and visa jurisdiction of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai covers provinces Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui  and the municipality of Shanghai.

Short-term (Schengen) Visas

Applicants from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui and Shanghai who wish to apply for Short-term Schengen visa to the Czech Republic can apply through the VFS Global visa centers, which are located in Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shanghai.

Based on what is mentioned above it is not possible to apply for the Schengen visa directly at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai. Exceptions are the Family members of EU citizens who, in addition to submitting their application at the Visa Center, can also use the possibility of submission directly at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai. Long-term Visas and Residence Permits 

Applicants from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui and Shanghai who wish to apply for Long-term Visa or Residence Permit to the Czech Republic must apply directly at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai.

Monday - Thursday --- - long-term visa and residence permit applications - confirmed appointments only
Wednesday 9:00 - 11:00 - collection of approved long-term visas 
Friday 09:00 - 11:00 -  consular services for Czech citizens

 

Notice:

Notary powers of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai are limited by Consular Agreement between Czech Republic and China, which as been in force since 1989 (Decree of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic No. 97/1989 Coll. - in Czech only). It especially restricts verification of signatures on documents for Czech nationals only, i.e. signature cannot be verified to the foreign nationals.
