How to apply

Applying via Consulate: How you proceed is described step-by-step.

You present your application forms and other documents in person at the Consulate if not stipulated otherwise.

Before submitting your Schengen application, you have to make an appoitment through website visapoint.eu/disclaimer otherwise you will not be accepted. You can download application form by clicking at the link at the end of this page.

1. Prepare the documentation
Check which documents and personal information you need. You must for instance have arranged for a passport and medical travel insurance and have a flight reservation for showing your travel route and return to China. Please note that the ticket should be bought first after your visa has been issued (no need for original). You must also have an invitation from the person you will be visiting in Czech Republic.

2. Pay the application fee
If you hand in your application at the Consulate you should pay the application fee upon your visit to the Consulate. The Consulate accepts payment only by cash. Read more under ‘Fees’.

3. Visit the Consulate
Bring the completed application form and all the required documents. During the visit, you may be required to answer some additional questions.

All family members who apply at the same time – including children – must visit the Consulate.

4. Wait for the decision
When you present your application, you are told when you can collect the decision and your passport. However, we would like to inform you, that the Consulate has 15 days to decide on application. This period of time for application clearance may be extended up to 30 days in particular cases. The Consulate doesn't bear any responsibility for applicant who failed lodge his/her application before above mentioned period of time.
