Business – conference – work – professional training

List of supporting documents to be submitted by applicants in China travelling for the purpose of business, conference, work or short professional training

Proof of purpose of stay:

  • Sealed copy of the business license of the employing company and
  • Original letter from the applicant's employer (on official company paper with stamp and signature), mentioning:
  • full address and contact persons of the company
  • name and position of the countersigning officer
  • name of the applicant, position, salary and years of employment
  • purpose of stay
  • confirmation of position continuation after the return
  •  name of a person or  entity that will cover the applicant's travel and living costs

 

  • Original invitation letter from the organiser of the event or the work/training (on official company paper with date, stamp and signature, in Czech, English or in Chinese with English translation), mentioning:
    • full address and contacts of the company
    • name and position of the countersigning officer
    • purpose and duration of stay
    • detailed program
    • name of a person or entity that will cover the applicant's travel and living costs;
    • whether the sponsor gives financial guaranty for the applicant's return to China

Please note that:

 

  • Proof of registration from a Chamber of Commerce, if applicable

 

  • Work permit, in cases of business training “on the job” or when working for company in the Czech Republic

 

Proof of financial means :

 

  • Bank statements from the last three months, not deposit account
  • Proof of solvency of the employing company, if the company  covers the costs of travel and living; or
  • Proof of the applicant's personal solvency, if the applicant covers the costs him/herself  

 

  • Proof of solvency for employees:
    • a sealed copy of the business license of employing company
    • letter from the employer (on official company letterhead  with date, stamp and signature, in English or in Chinese with English translation), mentioning:
      • address, telephone and fax numbers of the company
      • name and position  of the countersigning officer
      •  name of the applicant, position, salary and years of employment
      • approval for leave or absence

Work or Professional Training

Czech laws distinguish those categories being special cases of "business" visa. There are particular requirements stipulated by Act No. 435/2004 Coll., The Employment Act. Usually, it has impact of majority of employees sending by its Chinese companies to work or perform professional training to the Czech Republic. Especially for those, whose working or training performance suppose to take more than 30 working days.

Work visa:

- Working permit issued by respective Labor Office is not required in following cases:

  1. for a person who takes care of supplying goods or services in the Czech Republic or supplies such goods, or
  2. for a person who carries out assembly work under a commercial contract or, where appropriate, carries out warranty work and repair work.

However, such person's performance of work in the territory of the Czech Republic does not exceed 7 consecutive calendar days and/or a total of 30 days within a calendar year. For majority of other cases, a person performing work needs present working permit with his/her visa application.

Professional Training visa:

- similarly to short term working visa, there is special requirement for visa for professional training. Any training, which exceeds 30 working days should be authorized by the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic. Therefore, we recommend you to contact your Czech partner in order to help you arrange this certificate.
