Applying for a Certificate of Czech Citizenship

Here you can find information about how to apply for a Certificate of Czech Citizenship

PURPOSE OF THE DOCUMENT:

A  Czech citizenship certificate ("CCC") issued in the last 12 months is a proof of Czech citizenship. Its possession is not mandatory as a valid passport or national identity card ("občanský průkaz") can be used as a proof of Czech citizenship. However, it is necessary to obtain and submit a citizenship certificate when a person wishes to apply for a Czech passport abroad and does not have any other proof of citizenship issued in the Czech Republic (valid passport, občanský průkaz, or pre-marriage approval containing the citizenship status).

PLEASE NOTE: Pursuant to the Czech Citizenship Act, birth certificates, marriage certificates and drivers licenses are not valid as a proof of citizenship. Also, a CCC older than 12 months cannot be accepted as valid proof of citizenship.
