Signature Notarization

Applicants need to schedule an appointment in advance by e-mail ONLY! The address and office hours of the consulate can be found in the "about the Embassy" section of our website.

Purpose of the signature notarization:

Signature authentication is an official confirmation that a signature on a document belongs to the person who has signed it. On some specific documents, such as various declarations or powers of attorney, this official confirmation is required in order for the document to be considered legally valid or serve its intended legal purpose.

Requirements:

To authenticate your signature on a document, you must:

1. Appear in person at the Embassy,

2. Present your identification (valid passport, ID), and

3. Pay the consular fee in cash.

NOTE: A consular signature notarization conveys no judgement on the part of the consular officer as to the validity or truth of a notarization document. Despite the fact that only signature, and not the contents, is notarized, Embassy of the Czech Republic will not notarize signatures on documents that conflict with Czech legislation. Also, signatures on blank pages will not be notarized.
