Ambassador Michaela Froňková met with the Executive Director of ASEF, Mr. Toru Morikawa, and his deputy, Mr. Léon Paul Faber, at the Embassy on 10th November. She then presented her letter of credentials from Mr. Jakub Kuláhenk, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, thus becoming the accredited Czech representative on the ASEF Board of Governors. During the discussion, Ambassador Froňková mentioned the importance of the ASEF for the Europe-Asia dialogue and added that she would like to build on the excellent work of Ambassador Hupcej, her predecessor in office. Another equally important topic was the scope of possible cooperation with ASEF in the framework of the Czech EU Presidency in the second half of 2022.

After her accreditation, Ambassador Froňková attended the 4th ASEF Young Leaders Summit on 13 November, speaking on the panel of the "Econ4Life" project led by Mr. Martin Hammerbauer. The project is a training program for young people that addresses the most pressing financial literacy and economic issues facing young people and job seekers. It provides practical information on getting a job, getting a loan and managing savings to help smooth the transition to 'adult life'.

ASEF is an intergovernmental not-for-profit organisation which brings together the peoples of Asia and Europe to address common global challenges by 1) advancing mutual understanding and collaboration between the people of Asia and Europe through opportunities that enable an exchange of ideas; 2) acting as the civil society outreach of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), and works as a platform for Asia-Europe dialogue to stimulate permanent networks that reinforce Asia-Europe bi-regional relations; and 3) acting as an interface between civil society and ASEM governments and consequently, contributes to the ASEM process by generating unique recommendations for officials’ consideration.
