On February 5, 2016 at the historical premises of the National Gallery Chifte Amam, the opening of the 16. edition of the Winter Salon took place, traditionally organized by the Association of Artists of Macedonia (DLUM), which celebrates 70 years since its formation.

The big number of guests was greeted by the president of DLUM, Hristijan Sanev, the director of the National Gallery Dita Starova Qerimi, the minister of the culture Elizabeta Kancheska – Milevska and the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Macedonia Miroslav Rameš, who also mentioned the upcoming 25 jubilee since the start of the Visegrad cooperation.

The theme “Levels in Our Minds” was selected by the Czech curator Helena Fenclová, who from more than 70 artworks by the Macedonian authors chose 47, and the main prize, a two-month stay in Paris which will be covered by the funds of the Macedonian Ministry of Culture, was given to Katerina Tanevska for her work “Between Two Red Lines”.

In the “guest” category artworks of artists from Serbia, Croatia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic were exhibited. The Czech Republic was represented by Jan Gemrot (oil on canvas “Romantic”), Martin Kocourek (“Heart” and “The Small Helmet” of metal) and Jan Samec (pastels on canvas “Green Memories”).

The exhibition was accepted with an exceptional interest of the public and media, and at the opening there were about 150 guests together with the representatives of the diplomatic corps. This is a further successful common cultural project of the Embassy and the Association of Artists DLUM.

The exhibition will be open at least until 19.2.2016.
