CZECH REPUBLIC DONATED 1 MILION MEDICAL MASKS TO NORTH MACEDONIA

10th October 2020 in the afternoon a military cargo aircraft of the Czech Army landed at the Skopje Airport in order to deliver a donation of 1 million medical masks from the Czech government destined to help the North Macedonia in the fight against coronavirus. During the handover, Ambassador of the Czech Republic Miroslav Toman and Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs, Bujar Osmani, were present.

During the improvised press conference at the runway, the Deputy Prime Minister Osmani expressed gratitude of the Government of the North Macedonia to the Czech Republic, which has been in the long term one of the most important foreign donors. The Czech donation is an excellent proof of the solidarity between two friendly countries.

Ambassador Miroslav Toman remarked that the Czech donation is a continuation of the intense cooperation between the two countries as well as a proof of the long-standing Czech support to the North Macedonia and the Western Balkans. Czech Republic does not have a large surplus of the medical supplies, but the North Macedonia needed help and the Czech government is happy that it was able to support the friendly country in such a substantial manner.
