Mr. J. Hamáček within his official program placed a wreath on December 4, 2015 before the memorial of the fallen heroes of Macedonia, had talks with the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia Trajko Veljanoski, President Gjorge Ivanov, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and the state secretary at the Ministry of Interior Anastasija Ilieska.

During all talks the main focus was placed on the actual migrant crisis, the euroatlantic integration of Macedonia and the development of bilateral relations, especially focused on their economic dimension.

During the press conference with T. Veljanoski, J. Hamáček mentioned the main reasons of the realization of the visit, i.e. to appraise the current successful development of bilateral relations and to confirm the interest to continue with this trend, to confirm our support to the Macedonian effort to join the Euroatlantic integration groups and to closely get to know the problem of the migrant crisis and to express readiness for further assistance.

J. Hamáček discussed the Czech – Macedonian relations and especially the actual current issues in his address to the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia (see attached).

After the meeting with the parliamentary group of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia for cooperation with the Parliament of the Czech Republic with the attendance of the group’s chairman Petre Shilegov Mr. Hamáček put a wreath at the memorial of the Czech soldier Robert Gajdik and unofficially met with the president of SDSM Zoran Zaev.

The visit of the delegation of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament lead by President Jan Hamáček can be proclaimed without exaggeration as an important step towards the development of the Czech-Macedonian relations.
