The Czech Republic Granted 740,000 euro to Macedonia for Overcoming the Migration Crisis

On 31.3.2016 Ambassador Miroslav Rameš along with the Minister of Interior Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia Oliver Spasovski signed a donation agreement for supplying financial means in the amount of 20 million Czech crowns, i.e. around 740,000 euro to the Macedonian Ministry of Interior. This amount should serve for the purchase of equipment required for a more effective overcoming of the migration crisis, namely 25 SUVs.

Minister Spasovski expressed his gratitude to the Czech Government and the Ministry of Interior for their ‘selfless support’ and explained in more detail the material support as well as the sending of the second contingent of members of the Police of the Czech Republic.

Ambassador Rameš appraised the good level of bilateral cooperation, noted that we are following the old Czech saying “He gives twice who gives promptly” and referring to the Czech presidency of the V4, the Ambassador mentioned that the other countries of this group have given or are planning to help Macedonia in the form of sending their police units.
