Who writes anonymous hate mail? And why?

In this monologue, we are introduced to somebody who has given these questions a lot of thought. And very nearly stumbles on some answers.

The story was written in 1938 and the events take place in Prague. There were no chats nor bots around, but the city had a very efficient pneumatic mail system…

By way of Čapek’s text, this is an investigation into our eternal capacity for hatred and what that hatred does to us.
