More than 100 people attended the reception, just to name a few: Kent Andersson, Mayor of Malmö, representatives of the city and Skåne County, members of Consular corps in southern Sweden as well as representatives of business community and Swedish companies active in the Czech Republic. Both Ambassadors stressed the importance of Skåne in bilateral Czech-Swedish and Slovak-Swedish relations and thanked Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Malmö Kateřina Strömsholm for organizing the festivities including presentation of the movie spot Czech and Slovak Century and presentation of the Czech republic and Slovak Republic as a tourist destination.

Ambassadors Šitler and Balunová were also received at the City Hall, which is furnished with chandeliers from Czech crystal. Lord Mayor Kent Andersson honored both Ambassaadors by hoisting Czech and Slovak flag. Mayor, who will be replaced by Carina Nilsson, informed about the result of the September´s municipal elections and they also discussed impact of Brexit and bilateral cooperation. Adersson stressed that he will remain active in Skåne Association of Local Authorities he will push forward mutual Czech-Swedish projects.

Ambassador Šitler, military attaché brig. General Libor Štefánik, representatives of Swedish Church and Swedish Armed Forces laid a wreath at Östra Kyrkogården to a newly installed grave stones of three Czechoslovak citizens who were displaced with other victims of Nazism at the end of WW2 in Germany and subsequently evacuated to Malmö. Many of them died soon after. Swedish Lutheran Church drew Embassy´s attention to the existence of unmarked graves, which with financial support of Česká Zbrojovka a.s. arranged production of grave stones.
