The Committee on Environment of the Czech Parliament visited Sweden

The Committee on Environment of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament visited Sweden from May 13 to May 17, 2019.

Czech delegation led by Dana Balcarova, Committee chairwoman visited firstly Göteborg to meet with representatives of the City Hall and Chamber of Commerce to learn about the transition of Göteborg from pure industrial city into environmental friendly metropolis and also about Göteborg´s unique project of Green Bonds. Czech Parliamentarians studied city´s waste management policy and visited recycling station and heat plant of Renova.

In Stockholm they met with members of the Committee on environment of Swedish Parliament and also with members of the Swedish Czech Parliamentary Network. Czech delegation was also received at Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and Ministry of Environment and Climate. Discussion focused on issues such as waste management, environmental taxes, climate change, open access to environmental data to name a few.

Czech Parliamentarians made several field trips also in Stockholm, they visited two Smart Cities / Grow Smarter projects of Stockholm City Hall and recycling site / collection yard of Sörab.
