Conference of Czech Honorary Consuls in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania (Sydney, July 2022)

The conference of Honorary Consuls of the Czech Republic in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania took place on 28 and 29 July 2022 at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Sydney.

The conference, which was organized by the Consulate General in Sydney, was attended by the honorary consuls from Adelaide, Brisbane, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Auckland, Queenstown and Nuku’alofa (the Kingdom of Tonga), the Consul-General of the Czech Republic in Sydney Zuzana Slováková, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic Tomáš Dub. Other representatives of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Sydney, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Canberra, and the Director of the Sydney branch of CzechTrade, also took part in the meeting.

The two-day conference focused on pertinent questions regarding the practicalities of carrying out consular services and communicating with the Czech and international community, opportunities for improving mutual trade, travel restrictions in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania, as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic, as well as the current Czech Presidency of the European Council.
