Josef Chromý presented with major business award during the 32nd Annual Ethnic Business Awards

Mr Josef (Joe) Chromý, the founder of the renowned winery bearing his name in Relbia, Tasmania, has won the top award in the 32nd Annual Australian Ethnic Business Awards, in the prestigious category for medium and large businesses. The award is presented to immigrants who have achieved significant business success since arriving in Australia.

The award ceremony took place on 11 February 2022 in Sydney in the presence of the Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison, other senior political leaders, representatives of the business community, as well as the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Canberra Tomáš Dub and the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Sydney Zuzana Slováková. Mr Chromý decided to donate the $10,000 he was awarded with, plus an additional $10,000 of his own money, to the Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania to support immigrants who come to Australia as he did many years ago – without a penny in their pockets and without knowledge of English – with the vision of a better and free life in which they will be able to make their dreams come true. Sincere congratulations!
