(This article expired 30.12.2023 / 01:00.)

On March 24, 2023, the tenth annual Czech and Slovak Film Festival in Sydney was officially opened at Dendy Newtown. The Consul-General of the Czech Republic Zuzana Slováková and the Consul-General of the Slovak Republic Martin Kabáč took part in the opening.

The festival was kicked off with the short animated film REFLECTIONS followed by the feature length biographical film IL BOEMO directed by Petr Václav, which tells the story of Josef Mysliveček, a Czech immigrant in Italy who was one of the most significant opera composers of the 18th century.

Film fans and festival goers undoubtedly welcome the opportunity to see many more films over the coming weekend. The Consulate General of the Czech Republic, as a cultural partner of the festival, warmly invites you to get involved in the rich program of this year’s festival.
