Four Czech engineering companies introduced their robotics, machinery and tools within the National Manufacturing Week/Austech 2017 in Melbourne at the stand of the Czech Republic in the days of 9. - 12.5. 2017. The participation of the companies was possible thanks to a contribution from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the CzechTrade Agency within the framework of the Project for the Support of Economic Diplomacy.

Czech Ambassador to Australia, Mr. Martin Pohl, welcomed Czech exhibitors in Melbourne. Economic diplomat of the Consulate General in Sydney, Ms. Michaela Jerabkova, and director of CzechTrade Agency, Mr. Vojtech Helikar, were also available to the companies throughout the fair.

National Manufacturing Week and Austech are the largest engineering event in Oceania, and Czech companies had a great opportunity to reach out to representatives of companies with decisive powers in the Australian manufacturing industry.

More than 10,000 visitors came to the fair and 350 companies were present. This was a unique opportunity to draw inspiration, promote products and establish contacts with distributors, business partners and customers. At this year´s stand, the following companies were introduced:

  • BOMAR spol. s.r.o. – producer of high quality band saws, roller conveyers, length stops and feeders, represented at the fair by Australian distributor Haco Pty Ltd.
  • C.V. PROTOTYP s.r.o – company that provides machining, welding, repair and renovation of machine parts and equipment with a focus on highly specialized parts and non-standard parts.
  • FERMAT CZ s.r.o. – supplier of new and used machines with a long tradition of producing horizontal boring machines, milling machines and grinding machines
  • Thermacut group – technology provider for plasma cutting and plasma welding, represented at the fair by his Australian distributor Abicor Binzel.

Czech engineering has a good reputation in Australia that has helped in negotiating with potential business partners. Czech representatives acquired a lot of contacts for a possible future cooperation.

Several accompanying programs, B2B meetings, seminars and conferences (e.g.  Seminar "Industry 4.0 - Preparing for the Next Industrial Revolution") took place within the fair.

As a part of the fair, GK Sydney and CT Sydney organized networking with the Czech business community in Melbourne and also a meeting of Czech exhibitors with the representatives of the Czech-Australian Chamber of Commerce in Melbourne.

Representatives of the company CV Prototyp, Mr. Vojtěch Černák and Mrs. Eva Černáková, represented the Czech Republic not only in the field of industry and business, but also in the field of sport. They brought three silver and two bronze medals in single and double scull from the prestigious World Masters Games in New Zealand.
