Successful Presentation of Czech firms at Fine Food 2016 in Melbourne

The largest Food Fair in the Southern Hemisphere Fine Food Australia took place in Melbourne from 12. to 16. 9. 2016. The Czech Republic had a joint stand, where five Czech companies from the food industry were introduced. Participation of Czech firms was also possible thanks to the contribution of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Czech Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Industry and Trade (CzechTrade Agency) under the Project Economic Diplomacy.
 

Czech exhibitors in Melbourne were welcomed by the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Sydney, Hana Flanderova.

Visitors of the FineFood could taste healthy herbal syrups Kitl Ltd. (company from Jablonec nad Nisou), which are being supplied to the Australian market for two consecutive years by Kitl Australia. After a successful premiere at the FineFood Fair 2015 in Sydney, the company came to present their products and establish new business contacts in Melbourne.

The products of the company Carlsbad Mineral Water, Inc. – Mattoni and Magnesia were also introduced at the joint stand and had the opportunity to broaden their portfolio of customers. They have been on the Australian market since March 2016.

A brand new Czech product has been introduced to the Australian market. Namely water Oxywater by the company OXYLIFE Ltd. The first supply of oxygen water which has beneficial effects on the human body arrived in Australia specifically for the Fine Food and will try to push the local market through the company Oxylife Australia.

A very famous Czech producer of cereal and wholesome snacks – company Emco Ltd. - presented a broad assortment of their products.

A Czech producer of microbreweries - company Pacovské strojírny Inc. - also participated at the Fair by showing their catalogues. There was a big demand for the Czech products and the joint stand undoubtedly contributed to spreading the good name of the Czech Republic in Australia.

A series of business meetings was held between exhibitors and experts not only from Australia and New Zealand, but also from China and other Asian countries during the Fair, which was attended by approximately a thousand of exhibitors from 40 countries. The V4 countries were represented only by the Czech Republic and Poland. Among other European countries, Italy, Austria and Spain were traditionally strongly represented and Cyprus. Among non-European countries, China, Malaysia, Turkey, Thailand, India and the USA dominated the exhibitors.

Delegation of European Union in Australia organised during the FineFood specialised Geographical Indication Seminar in which participated the Ambassador of EU in Australia, Mr. Sem Fabrizi and the EU Trade Counsellor, Mr. Ivan Casella. Australia was represented by the Victorian Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade, Mr. Philip Dalidakis. The Seminar was attended by many other eminent personalities and experts in the field of agriculture and food industry. Thanks to the initiative of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Sydney and CzechTrade Sydney, all the participants of the Seminar had the opportunity to taste the mineral water Mattoni and visit the joint stand of the Czech Republic.
