Czech Christmas at Reading Festival

On the Advent Eve, on December 1st, another year of the traditional Reading Festival took place in the Taipei Da´an Park. The CECO had its booth in the National Central Library section.

Together with the German, Mexican, Australian and Indian, our stand – besides providing a reading inspiration - was a place to earn a stamp after doing some activity. Once all stamps collected, the readers would gain a reward from the organizer. The CECO offered three choices: the mostly little readers could pick one paper Nativity Scene figure, colour it and then place on the base; they could join us in gluing together a colour paper chain as a Christmas tree decoration or they could paint a ginger bread cookie by sugar colours. The last mentioned activity earned greatest success by no doubt – we ran out of ginger bread cookies soon, and had to flexibly refill our supplies.

The final Christmas tree chain is more than 7 metres long and the Nativity Scene with fifteen baby Jesus figures has hundreds of most awkward figures. We will use both to decorate our Consular Section waiting room and we thank to all that came to support us!
