Consular protection of EU citizens

Every citizen of the Union travelling or living in a third country where their own Member State is not represented has the right to diplomatic and consular protection by the authorities of any Member State under the same conditions as the nationals of that state. CECO also issues Emergency Travel Documents in case the EU citizen loses his passport and needs to return to the country of residence.
