The conditions for entry to the Czech Republic

Kindly be aware of the new quarantine measures as defined by the Ministry of Health and also of the updated rules for entry and return of persons to the territory of the Czech Republic. These conditions come into force on April 27, 2021.
 

The current rules when arriving to the Czech Republic from a country with a very high risk of infection, set different measures for:

a) CITIZENS OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC, THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS, EU CITIZENS WITH TEMPORARY RESIDENCE AND FOREIGNERS WITH PERMANENT RESIDENCE IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

Arrival from so-called dark red (a very high-risk) countries (including Taiwan) with strict epidemiologic measures applicable to journeys from this category. If the stay has been longer than 12 hours in the last 14 days + any means of transport:

You have an obligation to submit the first test – regardless of the result, either antigenic max. 24 hours or RT-PCR max. 72 hours prior to the boarding;

All persons travelling from very high-risk countries have a mandatory quarantine of 5 days upon arrival and must subsequently undergo a second RT-PCR test. The self-isolation is obligatory until the second negative test result.

 

b) ALL OTHER FOREIGNERS

You shall undergo a RT-PCR test, no earlier than 72 hours prior to the boarding. Moreover you must undergo a second RT-PCR test in the territory of the Czech Republic, no earlier than on the 5th day upon arrival. The self-isolation is obligatory until the second negative test result.

 

The following applies to all persons with no exception:

- the testing period is calculated from the test to the start of the journey. e.g. the RT-PCR test certificate must not be older than 72 hours before departure from the destination;

- all passengers arriving from very high-risk countries must fill in an electronic Public Health Passenger Locator Form before traveling to the Czech Republic, which must be submitted together with the test result upon entering the Czech Republic;

- employees and students are required to submit the test result to the employer or school;

- the obligation to wear an FFP2 respirator (or of the same or higher efficiency) everywhere outside the home for 14 days after arrival;
