Exhibition of ICEFA Lidice at the Tartu Uni Clinic

The travelling exhibition of the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice (ICEFA Lidice) with the topic „Biodiversity“ has been moved to the Tartu University Clinic after successful display at the Tallinn Children´s Hospital, where it brought a joy  to children in summer time.

From Thursday, November 8, 2018, until the beginning of 2019, the ICEFA Lidice exhibition with the topic „Biodiversity“ is to be seen in the main premises of the Tartu University Clinic (Ludvig Puusepa 1a, Tartu). The exhibition presents 12 panels with originals of childrens´ works of topic „Biodiversity, the diversity of living nature“ awarded at the 38th edition in 2010. Patients and hospital visitors can admire colourful drawings with sometimes exotic fauna and flora that have been painted by children from different parts of the world. We firmly believe that this exhibition will continue to bring joy and delight.

The International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice (ICEFA Lidice) was established in 1967 to commemorate the child victims from the Czech village of Lidice murdered by German Nazis, as well as all other children who have died in wars. Although national initially, this exhibition became an international one in 1973 and since then it has become well known among children and teachers not only in our country but literally all over the world. In recent years, more than 25,000 very good works of art have come regularly by children not only from the Czech and Slovak republics but also from other 60-70 countries, including such distant ones as China, India, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka or Zimbabwe. Estonia also actively participates in this competition every year.
