Common Declaration in Support of Baltic Pride 2023 in Tallinn

We celebrate Baltic Pride 2023 in Tallinn and declare that we unambiguously support full equality.

We support efforts to safeguard and promote the human rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex persons and to raise public awareness of issues affecting LGBTQI+ persons globally.

Human rights are for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity or expression. Respect for these basic principles obliges States to protect all persons from violence and discrimination and to ensure they enjoy equal rights and opportunities.

All of us must keep working together to create an environment of inclusion and equality, free from discrimination, where all human rights are fully guaranteed. We each recognise that there is work to be done in all our countries.

Thank you for the important work of LGBTQI+ communities in the Baltic States, as well as the work of all those in government and outside who seek to ensure human rights for LGBTQI+ persons and end discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or sex characteristics.

LGBTQI+ rights are human rights, which everyone should support and respect.

This declaration is supported by UK, US, Spain, Finland, Sweden, Netherlands, Norway, Canada, Cyprus, Ireland, France, Israel, Czechia, Luxembourg, Austria, Greece, Lithuania, Germany, Australia, Croatia, Belgium, Denmark, and Portugal.
