President of compatriot association Ioseb Bezhashvili deceased

On 4th January 2019, President of Georgian-Czech Association „Láska – Praha“ Mr. Ioseb Bezhashvili passed away unexpectedly at the age of 52. The last farewell ceremony took place on 8th January 2019, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Georgia was represented by Consul Ms. Olga Horáková.

Mr. Ioseb Bezhashvili founded the compatriot organization in 2014 and became its major representative. He significantly contributed to the creation of three documentary films mapping Czech traces in Georgian history: „Choirmaster“ (about Josef Navrátil – Ratilli), „Doctor“ (about Jan/Ivan Přibyl) and „Sokol“ (about foundation and activities of „Sokol“ public sport organization in Georgia). The films were partially financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
