A visit to World War II veteran Irakli Kandareli

Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Georgia Tomáš Pernický together with Adjutant Defence Attaché Roman Mrkvička visited on 11 March 2016 the 92-year-old World War II veteran Irakli Kandareli in the town of Gori. In the spring of 1945, Mr. Kandareli took part in the liberation of several Czechoslovak cities, mainly in Northern Moravia, and is now the Honorary Citizen of the cities of Ostrava, Olomouc, Opava and others.
