Mr. Mikyska was born in 1966 in Městec Králové, Czech Republic.

He graduated from Charles University (Prague, Czech Republic), Moscow State Institute of International Relations (Russia) and Diplomatic Academy of Santiago de Chile (Chile).

Professional diplomat, Mr. Mikyska worked at several positions at Czechoslovak and later Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Cultural Relations Department, American States Department and Bilateral Economic Relations and Export Promotion Department.

Abroad he served as a Chargé d´affaires (Head of Mission) in Havana, Cuba, (1992 – 1996), Deputy Head of Mission and Chief of Economic Section in Lima, Peru (1998 – 2004), Consul (Head of Mission) at the Consulate General in Toronto, Canada (2006 – 2007), Deputy Head of Mission and Chief of Political Section in Mexico City (2007 – 2010), Chargé d´affaires (Head of Mission) in Yerevan, Armenia (2012 – 2014) and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia (2015 – 2019).

On July 3, 2019 Mr. Mikyska presented to H.E. Salome Zurabishvili, President of Georgia, Letters of Credence accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Georgia.

Ambassador Mikyska is married, with two adult sons from a previous marriage. Speaks English, Spanish, Russian and French.
