Children of Tbilisi receive International Fine Arts Competition LIDICE 2015 awards

On 13 October 2015, Ambassador of the Czech Republic Tomáš Pernický presented medals and honourable mentions to the Georgian children whose works have been awarded at the 43rd International Children´s Exhibition of Fine Arts LIDICE 2015. 
 

At a ceremony held in representative rooms of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tbilisi, a medal and a diploma were presented to 16-year-old Ioanna Tsulaia, a medal and a diploma went also to her 11-year-old sister Marta Tsulaia. An Honourable Mention was presented by Ambassador Tomáš Pernický to 11-year-old Nani Chakvetadze. In addition to the 43rd  International Children´s Exhibition of Fine Arts LIDICE 2015 awards, the children received from the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tbilisi also flowers, books on the history of the Czech Republic, promotional items and small gifts useful for painting and drawing.

            A special guest of the ceremony besides the awarded children, their parents, siblings and teachers, was Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality of Georgia Ketevan Tsikhelashvili. She highly appreciated the success of the Tsulaia sisters who were born in the family of refugees from occupied Abkhazia. Among the guests were representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia as well as the Director and Deputy Director of Elene Akhvlediani´s Children´s Art Gallery, whose contributors have received many International Children´s Exhibition of Fine Arts LIDICE awards in the past.
