Congratulations to World War II veteran Irakli Kandareli (93) on 72nd anniversary of End of World War II

On the occasion of Victory Day celebrations, Ambassador of the Czech Republic Tomáš Pernický visited the 93-year-old World War II veteran Irakli Kandareli in the town of Gori on 10 May 2017. In April and May of 1945, Mr. Kandareli took part in the liberation of several cities in the present day Moravian-Silesian Region and is now the only living Honorary Citizen of the city of Opava. He is also a Honorary Citizen of Ostrava, Olomouc and several other cities.
