Czech-Japanese kindergarten opened in Jalaurta

On 30 September 2015, Ambassador of the Czech Republic Tomáš Pernický together with Ambassador of Japan to Georgia Toshio Kaitani ceremonially opened a nursery school for 40 children in the mountain village of Jalaurta, Sachkhere district in Imereti region.
 

The original kindergarten in Jalaurta having been completely destroyed in the 1993 earthquake, a new one has been built in this isolated village in the mountains within the framework of a joint Czech-Japanese development project. The Japanese side financed the construction of the building; the Czech side covered the costs of full equipment for the kindergarten within the project aimed at improving life of Jalaurta children.

Besides the children and their parents, the ceremonial opening was attended by First Deputy Governor of Imereti region Paata Nadiradze, Deputy Governor of Imereti region Giorgi Tchighvaria, Head of Sachkhere district administration Malkhaz Bazadze and representatives of the village of Jalaurta. The guests enjoyed varied cultural programme performed by the children who would attend the newly opened kindergarten, built within the framework of the joint Czech-Japanese project.
