Czech ZOO specialists come to help Tbilisi ZOO severely damaged by floods

On 16 – 20 June 2015, seven specialists from 3 Czech zoos helped Tbilisi ZOO hit by devastating floods on the night of 13 to 14 June 2015. The Czech specialists were the very first foreign experts to offer assistance to Tbilisi ZOO. Immediately after their arrival, they joined relief efforts and shared their experience in dealing with floods.
Assistance to Tbilisi ZOO was provided by five Prague ZOO specialists – Petr Velenský, Vít Lukáš, Jan Janošek, Jiří Svoboda and Tomáš Anděl – as well as by Jan Javůrek of Ústí nad Labem ZOO and Roman Vrzal of Zlín ZOO.
