Closing ceremony of the project "Supporting Traditional Livelihood in Tusheti" funded by the Czech Development Agency

On October 30, 2018, the closing ceremony of the project "Supporting Traditional Livelihood in Tusheti", funded by the Czech Development Agency was officially opened by the, Chargé d’Affaires a.i of the Embassy of Czech Republic in Georgia Jiri Preclik, Head of mission Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia Ekaterine Meskhrikadze and Regional Director of Caritas Czech Republic for Central Asia, Georgia and Balkans Evzen Divis.

The project “Supporting Traditional Livelihood Systems in Tusheti” was launched in 2015 with the purpose of supporting sustainable development of Tusheti region, increasing income for farmers through diversification of traditional production and offering alternative economic activities. 

During the implementation of “Supporting Traditional Livelihood Systems in Tusheti” project, Caritas worked closely with organizations including Municipality of Akhmeta, LEPL Scientific-Research Centre of Agriculture, GIZ/IBIS, RECC, and the Association of Friends of Protected Areas of Tusheti.

In parallel to conference, the exhibition of the project beneficiaries was organized in the yard of the Hotel. Local products and handicrafts were presented on the exhibition. 
The event participants were able to see and taste the products.
