The Transition Promotion Program is an instrument for democracy assistance of the Czech Republic to partner countries. This program is aimed at support to democracy and human rights, using the Czech Republic’s  experience with the social transition and democratization of the country.

Transition Promotion Program priorities:

  • Support of civil society, including human rights defenders;
  • Promotion of freedom of expression and information, including the freedom of media;
  • Promotion of equal and full political and public participation;
  • Support of institution-building in the area of the rule of law;
  • Promotion of equality and non-discrimination;
  • Promotion of human rights in employment and in the environmental context.

The Transition Promotion Program in Georgia has particular focus on minorities’ rights, human rights and free media in Abkhazia and youth participation in public life.
