Presentation of Midterm results of the Project „Launch of a System of Quality Improvement of Primary Healthcare in Georgia”

On January 24th 2019, a presentation of Midterm results of the project „Launch of a System of Quality Improvement of Primary Healthcare in Georgia”, took place in the premise of the Czech Embassy in Tbilisi. The project is funded by the Czech Development Agency and was officially opened by Chargé d’Affaires a.i Mr. Jiri Preclik, Head of mission Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia Mrs. Ekaterine Meskhrikadze and Deputy Minister of  the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social affairs (MOILHSA) of Georgia Mrs. Maia Lagvilava.

The project „Launch of a System of Quality Improvement of Primary Healthcare in Georgia” was launched in 2017 with the purpose of developing and introducing a sustainable model of primary health care for the improving the quality, accessibility and consistency of health services, also creating and implementing PHC data exchange and analytical standards in Georgia.

During the presentation’s course, the guests learned the intermediate results of the project including the status of the health information system intended for clinical data collection, exchange and analysis. 

The event participants were able to see the process of flow of clinical data from health information systems of 5 pilot primary health facilities and observe analytical reports and dashboards.

The model of assessment / improvement of quality of primary health care services that developed within the project has a strong potential of replication in other PHC facilities countrywide.
