Jan Svěrák´s movie Barefoot was awarded the main award at the ROSHD International Film Festival

48th International Film Festival ROSHD took place Tehran between 16 and 23 November 2018

The ROSHD International Film Festival covers many categories: scientific and educational documentaries, student films section, debut women-directed films, teacher films section, animation section and short and feature films section.

The Czech film Barefoot* directed by Jan Svěrák won the first prize in the category of feature films.

The award was accepted by the cultural representative of the Czech Embassy and will be delivered to the Czech Republic.

* Barefoot is a lyrical feature film about childhood and heroism in each of us. During the Second World War a small boy Eda is forced to move with his parents to a very small town where their relatives live. The city boy Eda needs to find his place in the local boys‘ clique, spending days walking barefoot and discovering both deep family secrets and his own bravery.
