Lecture about contemporary Czech authors

A lecture on Czech literature took place yesterday in Book City in central Tehran

The works of Czech authors such as Jaroslav Hašek, Milan Kundera, Franz Kafka, Václav Havel and Ivan Klíma have been translated into Persian for many years and therefore these authors are very well known in Iran. This time, Mrs Monika Růžičková from Charles University in Prague introduced contemporary authors of prose and poetry with a special focus on female authors.

The lecture met with great enthusiasm. In the future, the Czech Embassy, in cooperation with Book City, plans to organize more lectures on Czech literature, discussions with Czech authors, an exhibition of books translated into Persian and an audio-visual presentation of Czech authors.
